Two weeks ago Attorney General Dreyfus indicated the report on Dr Hawke's review of the Freedom of Information Act had not been received, despite the fact the review had been completed by the end of April. Senator Rhiannon yesterday sought to test whether two weeks in Canberra is as long as it seems to the rest of us watching on, giving notice of intention to move today Tuesday 25 June:
The report may have been received, we'll see. At least the minister might formally put on the record where things stand as our representatives complete the mad scramble in this last week of sittings before heading off in the direction of the ballot box. As to a government response, another time, perhaps another era....That there be laid on the table, by the Minister representing the Attorney-General, no later than noon on Thursday, 27 June 2013, the report of the review into the operation of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and the Australian Information Act 2010 and the government response to the review.
(Update- predictably, no report.)
