Familiar but important refrain
Oppositon parties are always committed to greater openness and transparency in government, but the track record is that this enthusiasm passes quickly once electoral success has been achieved. According to the Courier Mail this week the Queensland opposition is committed to changes in FOI including some moderation of the wide cabinet document exemption that exists in that state, and also removing an exemption for state government business enterprises. Good stuff, but the proof of the pudding........
