With attention focused on climate change and the talks in Bali, the US House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has
released a report of a 16 month investigation into allegations of political interference with government climate change science. 27,000 documents were handed over by the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Commerce Department.
The Committee says the evidence leads to one inescapable conclusion:
"The Bush Administration has engaged in a systematic effort to manipulate climate change science and mislead policy makers and the public about the dangers of global warming".
The White House called the findings "rehash and recycled rhetoric".
