Then there's NSW where the process of finding an Information Commissioner commenced in September last year, with still no announcement of an appointment, and a new act passed the Parliament in June last year but is yet to commence. Ms LEE RHIANNON: I direct my question without notice to the Attorney General. When will the Government's new freedom of information legislation, the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, commence? When will a permanent Information Commissioner be appointed?
The Hon. JOHN HATZISTERGOS: I anticipate an announcement in relation to that matter will be forthcoming soon.
