NSW Opposition onto FOI reform
This Sydney Morning Herald report provides details of the NSW Opposition's policy for FOI reform if elected to office in March next year. As Matthew Moore comments here, we hear these sentiments from politicians while in opposition but the track record in government has been inevitably disappointing. The changes sound like sensible steps in the right direction. There is plenty of time for the Government to match and beat the Opposition on this front, but as we reported last week the only Government speaker in parliamentary debate about the review bill said that everything on the FOI front is going swimmingly. Hmmm.....
